Benjamin Mao
Senior Associate

Mr. Mao joined Ewing Management Group in 2005 and is a Senior Associate in the Business Engagement Group. Mr. Mao is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, structuring, and financing buyouts of portfolio companies.

Mr. Mao was previously an Associate at Kohlberg & Company, a private equity firm specialized in middle market investing, where he was responsible for executing leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, add-on acquisitions, and divestitures, as well as providing guidance to portfolio companies on strategic, operational, and financial issues. While at Kohlberg, Mr. Mao executed transactions in a range of industries including the building products, pre-press services, and general manufacturing sectors.

Prior to that, Mr. Mao was a Financial Analyst and Associate at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and Credit Suisse First Boston. Mr. Mao helped to structure and to execute various merger and acquisition, leveraged buyout, and debt and equity financing transactions in the chemicals and oil and gas sectors.

Mr. Mao graduated with honors from Harvard University with an A.B. in Economics.
